🌫️ The Smokescreen: When the Enemy Tries to Cloud Your Purpose
By, John Jaramillo
“No matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ.”
— 2 Corinthians 1:20

👁️ When Life Gets Foggy
You were doing great—praying, growing, moving forward—and then out of nowhere... everything shifted.
Sudden stress. Unexpected delays. A wave of sadness or anxiety that doesn’t make sense.
It may not be random.
It may be a smokescreen—a spiritual tactic used by the enemy to blur your vision and block your confidence.
🔥 Satan Doesn’t Have to Destroy You—Just Distract You
Smokescreens are distractions meant to confuse, delay, and discourage.
They look like:
People pulling you off course
A relationship draining your joy
A closed door that feels personal
Inner thoughts whispering, “You’re not enough”
The truth?
The enemy’s goal is to get you so focused on the fog that you forget the fire of God’s promise.
✝️ Bible Characters Who Faced Smokescreens
Elijah (1 Kings 19)
One day, he’s calling down fire from heaven. The next? Hiding in a cave, depressed and afraid.
But God didn’t leave Elijah in the fog—He spoke in a still, small voice and gave him a fresh assignment.
Joseph (Genesis 37–50)
Dreams of greatness were followed by betrayal, slavery, false accusations, and prison.
But behind the pain was the palace. God used the process to position Joseph for purpose.
Peter (Matthew 14:22–33)
Peter walked on water until the wind got his attention. He began to sink when he focused on the storm instead of Jesus.
But Jesus didn’t let him drown. He reached out and lifted him back up—just like He will for you.

🧭 How to See Through the Smokescreen
Recognize it’s not always what it seems.
The fog is meant to get your focus off God.Refuse to camp in confusion.
Don’t make permanent decisions based on temporary fog.Remember His promises.
They’re not based on how you feel—they’re based on who He is.
The promises of God are still Yes and Amen—even in the fog.

💬 Final Thoughts
If you feel like you’re in a fog right now, don’t give up.
This isn’t the end.
It’s not even the middle.
It’s just a smokescreen—and behind it is your promise.
God sees what’s ahead even when you don’t.
He’s leading you through it.
Don’t stop walking.
You’re not stuck.
You’re just one step away from seeing the light break through.
🙏 Prayer
“God, help me see clearly through the fog. When confusion and discouragement come, remind me of Your promises. I trust You—even when I can’t see everything ahead. Guide me, strengthen me, and help me walk by faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
